Automation Engineer - PLC , HMI , SCADA

Role Purpose

To design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain automation systems in a beverage plant, ensuring smooth operation of PLCs, SCADA/HMI systems, and production line equipment while supporting efficiency, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Automation System Management

• Design, program, and maintain PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems for production lines.
• Monitor and optimize automated equipment performance to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related faults on filling, packaging, and processing lines.

Installation & Commissioning

• Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new automation systems and equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors during automation projects.
• Ensure proper documentation of wiring, logic diagrams, and system configuration.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for automation systems.
• Support predictive maintenance through monitoring of system parameters and data analysis.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and performance reports.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all automation systems comply with safety, GMP, and food industry standards.
• Conduct regular audits of automation systems for reliability and efficiency.
• Train operators and maintenance technicians on proper handling of automated equipment.

Continuous Improvement & Support

• Suggest and implement automation upgrades for improved productivity, efficiency, and cost optimization.
• Support production teams during line trials, breakdowns, and process optimization activities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education

  :
• B.Tech / BE in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.

• Experience

  :
• 36 years in automation engineering, preferably in beverage, FMCG, or food processing plants.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.), SCADA, HMI, sensors, and drives.

• Skills

  :
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in automation systems.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, control loops, and production line processes.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and control diagrams.
• Team collaboration and good communication skills.
