Controls Programmer

Skills and Knowledge:

Technical Expertise

Proficiency in designing electrical control panels, including layout, wiring diagrams, and component selection.

• Programming experience with PLCs and HMIs from Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Fuji, Fatek, L&T, and LSIS.
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols and their integration.
• Hands-on expertise in configuring and troubleshooting VFDs, servo drives, and industrial electronics.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of SCADA and IoT systems in industrial automation.
• Experience with designing and implementing automation solutions from concept to commissioning.
• Ability to create detailed system documentation and optimize design for performance and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Designing & System Architecture

• Analize application requirements to conceptualize and design automation systems, including control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and system architectures.
• Design and optimize electrical control panels, ensuring adherence to industrial standards and customer specifications.
• Select and integrate components such as PLCs, HMIs, drives, servos, sensors, limit switches, and encoders based on application requirements.
• Develop system documentation, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with vendors to ensure accurate and efficient control panel fabrication.

Programming & Development

• Develop and program PLC and HMI systems using languages like Ladder, Structured Text (ST), SFC, and FBD.
• Configure and commission VFDs, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, TCP/IP, Ether Cat, Profibus, Profinet, etc.).
• Program and integrate high-speed signals like encoders and IoT communication in PLC systems.
• Debug and enhance pre-developed PLC and HMI programs as needed.

System Integration & Commissioning

• Configure and commission communication protocols (Ethernet IP, Profinet, CC-Link, etc.) with third-party devices and systems.
• Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT) for control panels, ensuring design and functionality align with project requirements.
• Oversee site installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
• Conduct application trials to validate performance and ensure system reliability.

Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide technical support to field engineers for troubleshooting PLC, HMI, VFD, and servo-related issues.
• Assist the sales team with technical specifications, solution design, and BOM preparation.
• Support breakdown resolution for automation systems to minimize downtime.
