Australian Accountant

Job Overview:

• Prepare and finalize financial statements including Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss.
• Review and close books of accounts; perform rectifications where necessary.
• Carry out bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations.
• Finalize fixed asset schedules and depreciation.
• Conduct GL analysis, work paper preparation, and financial review.

2. Compliance & Taxation

• Prepare tax returns for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, and Individuals.
• Handle GST/BAS filing, reconciliation, and related analysis.
• Compute and prepare Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) returns.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and taxation regulations.

3. Bookkeeping Operations

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping including bank coding, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
• Manage Accounts Payable/Receivable and Payroll modules.
• Generate periodic management reports as per client requirements.

4. Communication & Reporting

• Liaise with clients for data collection, clarifications, and report sharing.
• Work collaboratively within the team to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and taxation.
• Hands-on experience with

  Tally, Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks

  .
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet compliance deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter / CPA (preferred).
• Experience in

  Australian Accounting and Tax Compliance

   is a plus.
