Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

Prepare weekly and monthly production plans based on customer orders and sales forecasts.
Coordinate with design, pattern, melting, moulding, machining, and dispatch teams for smooth workflow.
Plan melting schedules, moulding line loading, and heat treatment cycles to meet delivery timelines.
Ensure balanced production flow and avoid bottlenecks.

2. Material & Resource Planning

Plan and monitor availability of raw materials, sand, alloys, consumables, and patterns.
Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely material procurement and issue.
Optimize resource utilization (manpower, equipment, and tools).

3. Monitoring & Control

Track daily production vs. plan and take corrective actions for deviations.
Maintain production data, WIP reports, and analyse efficiency and productivity.
Review rejections, delays, and rework trends and coordinate corrective actions.

4. Coordination & Communication

Liaise with Sales, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics teams for order priorities and delivery schedules.
Communicate order status to management and customers as required.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of foundry processes (melting, moulding, core making, fettling, machining, heat treatment).
Proficiency in production planning tools, ERP/MRP systems.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and coordination ability.
Leadership and team management skills.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience:
812 years of experience in Production Planning & Control in a steel or ferrous foundry.
