Associate - TRS

You will be joining the BDO India team as a Senior Associate in the TRS- Direct Tax (US Tax) department based in Mumbai. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the offshore team in India and report to the onshore reporting manager. In this role, you will ensure that project tasks, deadlines, and expectations are met efficiently. Additionally, you will collaborate with the onshore team in the US to ensure effective coordination between both teams. Your role will require superior verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and decision-making skills. It is essential to have the capacity to work well in a team environment and maintain client relationships effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the offshore team in India and report to the onshore reporting manager - Ensure project tasks, deadlines, and expectations are met - Prepare deliverables for completeness, quality, and consistency - Collaborate with the US onshore team for effective teamwork - Utilize strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills - Develop and maintain client relationships - Knowledge of federal 1040/1120/1065 and multi-state tax returns - Understanding of the international portion of US federal tax returns - Ensure appropriate tax accounting in the general ledger - Identify open items and communicate with managers - CPA or Enrolled Agent certification (or in pursuit) or relevant US Tax Laws experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting required, Master's degree preferred - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools and tax compliance software Qualifications Required: - CA / CMA/ CA Inter/ MBA - CPA or Enrolled Agent certification (or in the process of pursuing) - Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant field required, Master's degree preferred - Experience with tax research databases and compliance software About BDO India: BDO India is a leading provider of specialised corporate and international tax advice.
