Associate - Impact & ESG

About the Role As a member of the Impact & ESG team at Credit Saison India, you will play a crucial role in supporting the integration of the company's ESG & impact management framework. Working closely with various teams within the organization, you will ensure the seamless implementation of the ESG & Impact framework, processes, policies, and tools throughout the lending operations. Your responsibilities will include assessing the eligibility of prospects, identifying ESG risks, and proposing mitigation measures. Reporting to CS India's VP - Senior Impact & ESG Officer, you will actively contribute to the company's commitment to embedding sustainability across all aspects of its business operations. Your role will be instrumental in aligning the company with rapidly evolving regulations and sector standards. The position is based in Bangalore, India. Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs): - Contribute to the implementation of Credit Saison India's Impact & ESG management framework by collaborating with the Impact & ESG and Business teams. - Participate in the assessment of ESG risks within the company's portfolio, including data collection and analysis. - Support the accurate assessment of Impact and ESG risks within Credit Saison India's portfolio, ensuring integration of processes and tools across business teams. - Aid in managing and tracking the Impact and ESG performance of the company's portfolio, addressing underperforming companies and providing relevant reports. - Help in maintaining and updating internally developed Impact and ESG methodologies to ensure alignment with international/sector standards and regulations. - Contribute to the development of reporting materials on portfolio impact, ESG risk/performance, and case studies for internal and external stakeholders. - Assist in the deployment of impact-related initiatives and projects in collaboration with relevant teams at Credit Saison India and Saison International. Your role is essential in driving the company's sustainability efforts and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Skills & Qualifications: - A degree in finance, sustainability, environmental science, or related field is preferred. - Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the lending/financial services sector, with at least 1 year in ESG risks/impact management. - Familiarity with environmental and social management standards such as IFC Performance Standards and IRIS+ metrics. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. - Strong desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple deliverables for diverse stakeholders. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. - Entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to positive impact and inclusivity. - Interest in financial inclusion, fintech, climate change, and poverty reduction. - Experience in working in multicultural environments and mentoring junior team members.
