Associate Consultant Surgical Oncology

As an Associate Consultant in Surgical Oncology for our client's expanding oncology department at a premier multi-specialty healthcare institution in Bhavnagar, your role is crucial in delivering comprehensive, surgery-based cancer treatment in an integrated clinical setting. You will be responsible for a range of surgical interventions, clinical duties, integrated cancer management, diagnostic and preventive support, clinical documentation and reporting, as well as learning, development, and mentorship. Key Responsibilities: - Independently or under supervision, perform various oncologic surgeries including tumor resections, staging surgeries, biopsies, and lymphadenectomies. - Provide thorough pre-operative assessments and post-operative monitoring to ensure optimal surgical outcomes. - Participate in the development of comprehensive treatment strategies with multidisciplinary teams and attend tumor boards to align treatment plans. - Guide and review imaging and pathological investigations to support surgical decision-making. - Maintain accurate clinical documentation, patient progress records, and compliance with institutional protocols for cancer registries. - Participate in continuous learning through CMEs, academic meetings, and mentorship of medical interns and surgery residents. Qualifications & Core Competencies: Education: - M.Ch/DNB in Surgical Oncology OR MS (General Surgery) with recognized fellowship in Surgical Oncology Experience: - 03 years post-specialization in surgical oncology with hands-on experience during residency/fellowship Technical Skills: - Competent in open, laparoscopic, and/or robotic cancer surgeries - Ability to evaluate and stage cancers accurately based on clinical and radiological findings Behavioral Traits: - Patient-first mindset with strong empathy and communication skills - Ability to function collaboratively in a team-based environment - Eagerness to learn and adapt in a high-acuity, tertiary care setting Desirable Attributes: - Exposure to organ-specific oncologic surgeries - Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and surgical documentation systems - Interest in oncology research, clinical audits, or publication work,
