Assistant Vice President Macro Product Control

As an Assistant Vice President Macro Product Control at Barclays, your role will involve ensuring the correctness and reporting of balance sheet and P&L for relevant entities. You will be responsible for month-end ledger activities, analysis of balance sheet and P&L accounts, and providing inputs for various reporting, including preparing Stat accounts for entities and corresponding audit. Your contribution to anticipating and creating the future at Barclays is essential. Key Responsibilities: - Reconcile daily profit and loss (P&L) figures for trading desks to align with valued positions in the trading book, investigate and resolve discrepancies. - Support in identifying, assessing, and mitigating trading risks, and reporting on financial risks to senior colleagues. - Maintain and analyze the bank's trading data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, providing insights to traders and senior colleagues. - Prepare and submit regulatory reports to authorities, support external audits, and effectively communicate complex financial information. - Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a coordinated approach to trading activities. Qualifications Required: - Finance/Accounting qualification/degree, CA preferable but not compulsory. - Good financial acumen, accounting, and reporting skills. - Ability to understand and analyze financial information, including balance sheet and P&L. - Basic knowledge of IFRS9 and Financial instruments is a plus. - Willingness to simplify processes, build controls, manage risk within the team. - Accountability, ability to operate independently, resolve issues. - Good communication skills, positive attitude, intent to learn. - Excellent Excel skills, ability to handle large data sets, quick learner of financial systems such as SAP, Hyperion, Alteryx, etc. This role is based in Chennai and Pune.
