Job Description

An experienced Transport Planner is required to join our established Transport Planning team which serves the UK private development and public sector markets. The Transport Planning team undertakes development planning work involving site appraisals, transport assessments, traffic feasibility, road safety, active travel, business cases, public transport studies, and public consultation. The appointed candidate will be supporting the transport planning teams working on a wide variety of high-profile projects across the UK and internationally. There will also be opportunities to collaborate with transport planners across WSP UK offices on transport planning projects, including potential international assignments. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to expand their role in the future to include project management and the development/training of staff in Noida/Bengaluru to enhance their skills. This role offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career within a successful team while contributing to the growth of the transport planning capability to support the UK lead Development discipline. Additionally, you may have the chance to travel to our UK offices to collaborate face-to-face with the UK project teams when necessary. Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, and AutoCAD for spatial analysis and figure production in reports and planning applications is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required. An enthusiasm for and genuine interest in Transport Planning and Engineering is crucial to align with our highly motivated team. We are seeking a candidate who can develop alongside the team as WSP continues to provide significant opportunities for growth. Key responsibilities include conducting quality checks on data and report preparation, researching and reviewing design options for technical impact, managing and overseeing tasks to ensure on-time completion to WSP's standards, taking ownership of assigned tasks and seeking solutions where necessary, acting as the primary contact for different UK offices regarding Transport Planning tasks, being a core member of WSP's Transport Planning team with a focus on detail and quality, displaying eagerness to self-improve and dedication to working independently or with minimal guidance, ensuring Health & Safety practices are integrated into work in accordance with company policies, maintaining clear communication with colleagues in India and the UK on project-related technical matters and day-to-day issues, supporting in writing reports and technical notes, guiding and assisting junior team members, working within project constraints such as time, budget, and resources, attending and contributing to team and project meetings, and completing accurate timesheets by the established deadline. Overall, this role offers a dynamic environment for a motivated Transport Planner to contribute to high-profile projects, develop their skills, and play a key role in the growth and success of the team.,
