Assistant Tool Room Manager

• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the tool room, including tool preparation, inspection, maintenance, and repair.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of all tools and equipment, ensuring their proper storage, maintenance, and timely replacement or repair to minimize downtime and prevent delays in the production of medical devices.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure the timely availability of the correct tools and equipment required for various stages of medical device manufacturing.
• Ensure all tools and equipment meet quality standards and adhere to relevant regulations and industry standards, including those outlined in ISO 13485 for medical devices.
• Develop and implement tool room policies and procedures to optimize workflow, enhance efficiency, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of tool usage, maintenance activities, inventory levels, and any deviations or incidents.

Desired profile of the candidate

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in tool room management or a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally within the medical device industry.
• Proficiency in tool management software, inventory management, and potentially CAD/CAM systems.
• Strong understanding of tool and equipment maintenance, including injection mold tooling and associated processes.
• Understanding of and adherence to quality management systems like ISO 13485 for medical devices.
• Strong knowledge CNC machines, VMCs (Vertical Machining Centers), EDMs (Electrical Discharge Machining), and other specialized tools and equipment for medical device manufacturing is crucial.
