Assistant Project Manager MEP

Role & responsibilities

1. Project Coordination:

• Support the in project planning, coordinating, and executing all MEP activities.
  
• Liaise with MEP subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.
  
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and civil teams to resolve clashes.
  
• Assist in organizing weekly MEP coordination and progress meetings.

2. Technical Support & Documentation

• Prepare, review, and track MEP-related submittals (shop drawings, material approvals, method statements).
  
• Assist with design review to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and project requirements.
  
• Help manage RFIsdrafting, submitting, and tracking responses.
  
• Maintain technical logs for submittals, RFIs, and inspection requests.

3. Schedule & Progress Monitoring

• Support development of the MEP work schedule and update progress.
  
• Track daily/weekly progress of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems.
  
• Coordinate timely delivery of materials and equipment to avoid delays.
  
• Monitor manpower allocation for MEP activities.

4. Quality Assurance & Inspections

• Assist in conducting site inspections for MEP installation works.
  
• Ensure installations follow approved drawings and quality standards.
  
• Check compliance with local codes, safety standards, and contract specifications.
  
• Follow up on punch lists and corrective actions.

5. Cost Control & Procurement

• Assist in preparing MEP cost estimates, BOQs, and budgets.
  
• Support procurement activitiesrequesting quotes, comparing bids, and preparing recommendations.
  
• Track MEP change orders, variations, and cost impacts.
  
• Monitor usage of materials to avoid waste or over-ordering.

7. Site Execution Support

• Coordinate day-to-day MEP site activities with supervisors and engineers.
  
• Solve minor technical and coordination issues on-site under PM guidance.
  
• Ensure proper installation sequencing (e.g., MEP before false ceiling, slab embeds before concreting).
  
• Manage site documentation: daily reports, inspection requests, test reports.

8. Testing, Commissioning & Handing Over

• Assist in planning and executing testing and commissioning of all MEP systems.
  
• Coordinate with vendors and specialists for equipment startup and testing.
  
• Help in preparing O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and handing-over documents.
  
• Support final inspections and authority approvals.

9. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure MEP teams follow site safety rules and permit-to-work requirements.
  
• Report unsafe practices and support toolbox talks for MEP workers.
  
• Assist with documentation for statutory approvals (electrical, fire, drainage, etc.)

Education Required: BE/Btech Electrical/ Mechanical

Experience: 6+ years of experience.

Must have experience in Industrial Projects/ Industrial Building
