Position: Assistant Professor
Department: Psychology
Location: Bengaluru
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years

Role Overview

The Assistant Professor of Psychology will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, guiding student learning, conducting research, and contributing to academic development within the department. The role requires strong subject knowledge, effective communication skills, and a commitment to student success.

Key Responsibilities Teaching & Instruction

  • Conduct undergraduate and/or postgraduate classes in various psychology subjects (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Organizational Psychology, Cognitive Psychology).
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, presentations, and assessments.
  • Use innovative teaching methodologies and digital learning tools.
  • Evaluate student performance through examinations, assignments, and practical assessments.

Academic Support

  • Guide students on academic projects, internships, fieldwork, and research activities.
  • Mentor students regarding academic performance, career paths, and psychological insights.

Research & Publications

  • Conduct independent or collaborative research in the field of psychology.
  • Publish research papers in reputed journals and contribute to departmental research output.
  • Participate in seminars, conferences, and workshops.

Curriculum & Departmental Activities

  • Assist in curriculum development and syllabus revision.
  • Coordinate departmental activities, events, and academic initiatives.
  • Participate in accreditation and quality assurance processes (NAAC/NBA, etc.).

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain records such as attendance, grades, and academic reports.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and institutional committees.
  • Support college policies, student welfare programs, and institutional development.

Required Skills & QualificationsEducational Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology (Clinical/Counselling/Organizational/General).
  • NET/SET qualification preferred (as per UGC norms).
  • PhD in Psychology is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of teaching or relevant professional experience in the field of psychology.

Skills

  • Strong subject knowledge and teaching ability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use educational technology & LMS platforms.
  • Research aptitude and publication record preferred.
  • Commitment to student engagement and academic excellence.
