Job Title: Assistant Manager Production

Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager Production is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily production operations to ensure efficient workflow, product quality, and compliance with safety standards. This role involves team leadership, production planning, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to meet production targets and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and monitoring daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of production staff, ensuring adherence to schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor and report key production metrics (OEE, rejection rate, downtime, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.
  • Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and other improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments like Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and Stores to ensure smooth operations.
  • Lead root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Maintain proper documentation and production records as per regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Train and guide operators and junior team members to ensure skill development and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma/bachelor’s degree in mechanical / production / industrial engineering or a related discipline.
  • 9–14 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment, with leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, machinery, and workflow optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office tools.
  • Familiarity with Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Good team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work in shifts
