- Manage projects and multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver sustainable infrastructure solutions.
- Develop and implement project management plans, including procurement, requirements, technical assurance, and risk management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
- Conduct feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and operations activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and CDM regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and staff.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in water treatment plants.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with digital design tools, including BIM, is an asset.
- Demonstrated highways experience and professional qualification with an appropriate engineering institution (ICE, CIHT, PW, etc.) or equivalent continuous professional development.
- Experience in two or more areas including early-stage optioneering, understanding all stages of design (feasibility through detailed design), running infrastructure schemes through various stages (feasibility, concept design, detailed design, construction, commissioning, operations), project management (procurement, requirements, technical assurance, risk), full awareness of Health & Safety Legislation and CDM Regulations applied to the design process.
- Practical skills in project management of projects and leading teams across multi-disciplines from bidding stage through to delivery against contracted cost and programme; excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation); confident in client-facing roles; previous experience working on UK public sector infrastructure projects; experience in infrastructure design with competence to independently check and approve the work of others; knowledge of key design standards and guidance; experience using Digital Design Tools for production of deliverables including BIM.
