Job Description

  • Manage projects and multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver sustainable infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop and implement project management plans, including procurement, requirements, technical assurance, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and operations activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and CDM regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and staff.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in water treatment plants.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in digital design tools, including BIM, is an asset.
  • Demonstrated highways experience and professional qualification with an appropriate engineering institution (ICE, CIHT, PW, etc.) or equivalent continuous professional development.
  • Experience in two or more areas: early stage optioneering, understanding of all stages of design (feasibility through detailed design), running infrastructure schemes through various stages (feasibility, concept design, detailed design, construction, commissioning, operations), project management (procurement, requirements, technical assurance, risk).
  • Practical skills in project management of projects and leading teams across multi-disciplines from bidding stage through to delivery against contracted cost and programme.
  • Excellent communication skills (good verbal, written, and presentation skills) and confident in client-facing roles.
  • Previous experience working on UK public sector infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in infrastructure design with competence to independently check and approve the work of others (knowledge of key design standards and guidance).
  • Knowledge of contract preparation, procurement, and risk management.
  • Appreciation of the operational and maintenance impacts of our design solutions.
