Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Execute the design & development activities of products including requirement of proto development & validation

Planning & Team Management

  • Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient work distribution and coordination.
  • Lead and execute multiple projects as part of the design engineering team, prioritizing quality and strict adherence to project schedules.

Design

  • Prepare 3D modelling and 2D drawings using a software Creo & release through PLM cycle.
  • Conduct rigorous theoretical calculations to validate that design specifications align with required standards and specifications.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) principles to ensure precise alignment with design criteria.

Project Execution

  • Perform Initial Feasibility Study Report (IFSR) and Final Feasibility Study Report (FSR) activities, contributing essential engineering input
  • Assist in the preparation of prototype samples and actively participate in their verification to confirm design viability.

Review & Verification

Perform peer reviews of 3D models and drawings to validate design accuracy and quality

Documentation

  • Create comprehensive documentation for Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Quality Gate (QG) activities, maintaining rigorous quality control throughout the project.

Other Activities

  • Manage Engineering Change Notice (ECN) activities, ensuring that design changes are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare Design Validation Plans (DVP) to outline how design concepts will be validated to meet specified requirements.
  • Actively participate in Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) activities to enhance product quality and cost-effectiveness.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement Kaizen initiatives for process improvement.
  • Engage in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities to enhance system reliability.

Audit Participation

Participate in IATF and customer audits, ensuring that any findings are addressed promptly through corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Preferred candidate profile

BE / Diploma-Mechanical

  • Sound knowledge of CAD Software (CREO is must)
  • Engineering calculations
  • Well versed with APQP processes
  • Well versed with GD&T application & Tolerance Stack up Analysis
  • Knowhow of manufacturing processes
  • Fully conversant with DVP tests.
  • Conversant with reqd. Related Standards.
