Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Evaluate and approve suppliers for plastic tooling processes.
Conduct process audits (molding, surface preparation) to ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal requirements.
Verify supplier capability for dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
Review and approve tooling design and mold flow analysis.
Oversee first article inspection (FAI) and PPAP submissions for plastic parts.
Define and communicate quality specifications for plastic parts (e.g., gloss level, color match, scratch resistance).
Maintain supplier quality documentation, including control plans and inspection standards.
Lead root cause analysis for defects such as surface contamination or dimensional deviations.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with suppliers.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for tooling maintenance and process optimization.
Track supplier KPIs: defect rates, on-time delivery, and cost of poor quality.
Conduct regular reviews and provide feedback to suppliers for performance improvement.
Ensure adherence to automotive or industry-specific standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
Manage risks related to material compatibility and environmental regulations.
