Assistant Manager- Purchase

• Source, evaluate and empanel vendors for non-medical/non-clinical material categories; negotiate rate contracts, credit terms, performance SLAs, and renewal terms.
  
• Manage procurement of non-medical items as per approved materials list/formulary (e.g., office stationery, housekeeping consumables, facility & engineering parts, furniture/furnishings, kitchen & catering items, linens, uniforms, safety equipment).
  
• Maintain optimum stock levels using inventory control techniques (e.g., ABC/VED analysis, MinMax inventory levels) for nonmedical items to avoid stock-outs or overstocks.
  
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory acts (as applicable), hospital SOPs and accreditation standards (NABH) for material procurement, documentation, vendor contracts, traceability and auditreadiness.
  
• Process requisitions, issue purchase orders (POs), and goods received notes (GRNs) via the hospital system, in coordination with Accounts, Stores, Facilities/Engineering, Housekeeping, Catering, Admin departments.
  
• Monitor vendor performance for nonmedical categories: delivery adherence, quality of supplies, timely invoicing, service support; initiate corrective action for supplychain disruptions or vendor non-performance.
  
• Liaise with internal stakeholders (Administration, Housekeeping, Engineering, Catering, Stores) to forecast demand, understand usage patterns, align budget and procurement plans.
  
• Support audit and accreditation processes by maintaining proper procurement records, vendor contract files, stockcontrol reports, consumption analyses and variances.
  
• Contribute to cost containment and value engineering initiatives: identify alternate sourcing, standardise materials, negotiate better terms, rationalise vendor base, review consumption trends for savings opportunities.
