Assistant Manager - Fire & Safety

Role & responsibilities

• Implement and monitor fire safety policies as per statutory standards (AP Fire Services Act, NBC, Factories Act, IS codes).
  
• Ensure compliance and maintenance of fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers).
  
• Manage fire NOCs, documentation, and coordination with state fire authorities.
  
• Conduct fire risk assessments, HAZID studies, and implement preventive measures.
  
• Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plans with a focus on fire scenarios.
  
• Lead mock drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency simulations.
  
• Issue and manage high-risk permits (Hot Work, Confined Space, Electrical Isolation, Work at Height).
  
• Inspect and monitor fire systems, oversee maintenance, testing, and internal fire audits.
  
• Deliver fire safety training, inductions, and ERT skill development (extinguishers, SCBA, rescue).
  
• Drive 5S, IMS/ENMS support, and continuous improvement in fire safety and emergency response.

Preferred candidate profile

The candidate will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving fire safety systems and emergency preparedness across the plant. The role includes managing fire protection systems, ensuring statutory compliance, issuing high-risk work permits, and strengthening the overall fire safety culture through regular inspections, training, and process enhancements.

Diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering/B.Tech in Fire Engineering/PG Diploma in Industrial Fire & Safety

Preferred Certifications:

• NEBOSH IGC
  
• Advanced Diploma in Fire & Industrial Safety
  
• SCBA & First-Aid Firefighting Certification
  
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (added advantage)
