research As an Assistant Manager in our Direct Tax team, you will play a crucial role in providing expert tax consulting and compliance services to our clients. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities, with an emphasis on ensuring compliance with tax regulations and delivering strategic tax advice to optimize our clients' financial positions. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of Hindi and Kannada would be an added advantage Role & responsibilities 1. Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of Direct Tax returns for clients. Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws, regulations, and filing deadlines. Conduct regular reviews and assessments to identify potential tax liabilities and propose necessary adjustments. 2. Tax Planning & Advisory (Corporate Income tax and International Tax): Conduct thorough research and analysis of tax implications for various business transactions and investments. Assist in providing tax advice in relation to transactions undertaken /proposed transactions 3. Transfer Pricing: Assist in reviewing the international taxation entered into by the client and the transfer pricing documentation Assist in conducting client interviews to obtain client's business information Assist in drafting FAR analysis based on information collated. Assist in drafting industry analysis. Assist in determination of the Most Appropriate Method (MAM) and the Profit Level Indicator (PLI). Assist in conducting the benchmarking analysis on financial and other databases to find comparable companies /transactions. Assist in documenting the benchmarking analysis. Assist in drafting the transfer pricing study report /local file. Assist in transfer pricing and international tax advisory assignments. Adhere to master file and CbCR intimation filing deadlines. Preparation and filing of Master File. 4. Client Communication and Relationship Management: Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing their tax-related queries and concerns. Foster strong client relationships through regular communication and providing value-added insights. Proactively identify opportunities for additional services and offerings based on client needs. 5. Representation and Litigation: Assist in drafting letters to the Income-tax department, rectification applications, revision petitions, replies to notices, appeals, written submissions, etc. Represent clients in tax assessments, appeals, and other interactions with tax authorities. 6. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the tax and AOS teams, providing guidance and support to junior staff members. Assist in training and development activities to enhance team members' knowledge and skills. Work collaboratively with other team members in the firm, such as auditors, consultants, and legal advisors, to provide comprehensive financial solutions to clients. 7. Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate tax records, reports, and documentation for client files. 8. Client Presentations: Deliver presentations to clients regarding tax strategies and provide explanations of complex tax concepts clearly and understandably. Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is mandatory. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Hindi and Kannada is an added advantage. Skills required: Good drafting skills, ability to communicate clearly and formally while drafting of emails to clients, letters or submissions to the Income-tax department, drafting of FAR analysis, etc. Ability to conduct research on tax and transfer pricing issues. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Familiarity with tax software and technology tools.
