Assistant Manager Designs - Electrical

As a Solar Electric Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing a wide range of solar PV systems for digital tools and offline documentation. Your role involves planning concepts, drafting layouts, managing stakeholder requirements, and ensuring the final designs meet safety and code requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Plan solar system concepts by analyzing site information, client needs, and solar data. - Illustrate system concepts through drafting layouts, single-line diagrams, and aesthetic array designs using CAD and PV design tools. - Liaise with stakeholders to manage requirements, budgets, and project timelines. - Develop designs using tools like AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Aurora Solar, ensuring visual clarity and accuracy. - Collaborate with project managers and permitting teams to produce final design packages. - Validate designs through simulations and ensure readiness for execution. - Communicate with clients, engineers, and site teams regarding layout decisions and design revisions. - Review final layouts and recommend improvements to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Maintain technical knowledge by attending workshops and engaging with engineering societies. **Skills & Experience Required:** - 15+ years of proven experience in solar design engineering or a related field. - Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp) and PV design/simulation software. - Competence with Photoshop and InDesign for graphics. - Strong understanding of electrical design principles, codes, and PV system components. - Excellent visual design sense, attention to detail, and organizational skills. - Effective communication skills for stakeholder interactions and collaboration. - Methodical and deadline-driven with strong project management skills. - Academic background in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or Graphic Design with PV design experience. - Professional certifications such as NABCEP Associate/Designer, EIT, PE license, or SEI training are advantageous. - Prior field or installation experience in solar industry is highly valued.
