Role Overview:

The Assistant/Deputy Manager – Warehouse will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing warehouse operations at the WTG manufacturing plant. This includes inventory control, material handling, team supervision, and coordination with cross-functional departments to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods. The role demands strong leadership, process orientation, and a deep understanding of warehouse systems and manufacturing logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Operations Management:

    • Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, dispatch, and documentation.
    • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance with company and legal guidelines.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Inventory & Material Management:

    • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts.
    • Resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate stock records using WMS/ERP systems.
    • Coordinate with procurement and production teams for material availability.
  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead and mentor warehouse staff to achieve productivity and quality targets.
    • Conduct training sessions on SOPs, safety, and equipment handling.
  • Process Improvement & Reporting:

    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Generate performance reports and present insights to senior management.
    • Support automation and digital transformation initiatives in warehouse operations.
  • Compliance & Quality Control:

    • Ensure compliance with ISO, EHS, and other regulatory standards.
    • Oversee quality checks during inbound and outbound processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field. Certifications like CSCP, Lean Six Sigma, or Warehouse Management are a plus.
  • Experience:

    4 to 12 years in warehouse/logistics operations, preferably in a manufacturing or renewable energy setup.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP (SAP, Oracle), and MS Excel.
    • Knowledge of RFID, barcode systems, and automation tools.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
    • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience in handling large-scale warehouse operations in a manufacturing plant.
  • Exposure to wind energy or heavy engineering sectors.
  • Familiarity with lean warehousing and digital inventory systems.
