Assistant Manager-Cost Accountant

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costing systems and cost records.
• Prepare cost analysis reports for management on product costing, pricing, and profitability.
• Monitor and control production costs, inventory valuation, and overhead allocation.
• Assist in preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Work closely with operations, procurement, and production teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory regulations.
• Support internal and external audits with cost-related documentation.
• Analyze gross margin, contribution margin, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Recommend improvements to cost control processes and financial reporting systems.

Preferred candidate profile

• ICWA (Preferred) or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance.
• Candidates having experience in Manufacturing Industry.
• Proven experience in cost accounting, management accounting, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of costing methodologies (standard costing, activity-based costing, etc.).
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/accounting software (SAP, Oracle, Tally, etc.).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
