Job Description

Role Overview:

Assistant Manager Business Finance

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning and Fund Management (Approx. 40%)

  • Manage fund allocation, utilization, and tracking across KEF projects.
  • Monitor budget versus actual expenditure and prepare fund utilization dashboards.
  • Review and validate disbursements, fund requests, and returns.
  • Prepare Annual Operating Plans (AOPs) and project budgets in collaboration with program and support teams.

3. Database and Reporting Management (20%)

  • Maintain and update financial databases for all KEF programs and cost centers.
  • Prepare timely reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and Board-level) with high data accuracy.
  • Consolidate and validate financial data for decision-making, reporting, and audits.

4. Process Improvement and Innovation (10%)

  • Strengthen systems and processes to enhance efficiency and control.
  • Support automation, standardization, and development of financial tracking tools and templates.
  • Contribute to building a culture of financial discipline and data-driven decision-making.

5. Financial Insight and Strategic Analysis (Approx. 30%)

  • Analyze project economics, identify key cost drivers, and benchmark performance across geographies and project models.
  • Lead activity-based budgeting and link financial plans to organizational strategy and expected impact.
  • Generate insights to inform strategic decisions and Board reporting.
  • Identify financial risks (e.g., budget drags) and opportunities for cost or impact optimization.
  • Support capital allocation, trade-off analysis, and portfolio-level financial decision-making.
  • Establish and track financial KPIs that measure efficiency and cost-effectiveness (e.g., cost per beneficiary)

  • Effective communication and collaboration across teams
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
