Role and Responsibilities

Position:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Firewall Administration

  • Manage and monitor Sophos (or relevant) firewall systems.
  • Configure firewall rules, VPN access, and IP address management.
  • Ensure network security and respond to intrusion or threat alerts.
  1. Windows Server 2022 Management

  • Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and domain services.
  • Perform routine server maintenance, updates, and user access control.
  • Monitor server performance and ensure high availability.
  1. Microsoft 365 Email Tenant Management

  • Handle user creation, mailbox assignments, and permission settings.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Exchange Online, security policies, and MFA.
  • Manage email flow, spam filtering, and retention policies.
  1. Hardware Support (Desktops & Laptops)

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware issues in desktops, laptops, and peripherals whenever required.
  1. Hyper-V Server Management

  • Manage and maintain Hyper-V virtual environment.
  • Monitor virtual machines (VMs) for performance, backup, and uptime.
  • Provision and decommission VMs based on department requirements.
  • Ensure proper resource allocation and failover capabilities.
  1. Centralized Access Point Management

  • Oversee configuration and maintenance of wireless access points.
  • Ensure consistent Wi-Fi performance across all departments.
  • Implement security and guest access controls.
  1. NAS (Network Attached Storage) Management

  • Monitor NAS device health and storage capacity.
  • Organize folder structure and implement user-wise access controls.
  • Archive older data to external or cloud storage when necessary.
  1. Server Data Backup Monitoring

  • Supervise and verify daily backup jobs on servers and critical systems.
  • Ensure backup completeness and test restoration regularly.
  • Manage backup policies and coordinate disaster recovery procedures.
  1. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain documentation for network, server configurations, backups, and assets.
  • Generate regular reports on firewall logs, backup status, and incidents.
  1. User Support & Coordination

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to users.
  • Escalate and coordinate with vendors or higher-tier support when necessary.
  • Train users on IT best practices when required.
  1. Compliance & Policy Enforcement

  • Enforce IT policies related to data security, usage, and access control.
  • Support internal audits and ensure IT infrastructure complies with standards.
