Assistant II - Lab Support

As a Platform Technician at UST, you play a crucial role in assembling, configuring, and maintaining hardware platforms, ensuring optimal performance of servers, workstations, and embedded devices. Your responsibilities include installing components, flashing BIOS, updating firmware, and setting up operating systems such as Windows and Linux along with necessary software. You will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and document resolutions effectively. Your role demands hands-on technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. You will work closely with engineers and lab technicians to deploy platforms seamlessly, maintain hardware inventory, and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Generating and updating documentation for platform configurations and issue resolutions will be an integral part of your responsibilities. To excel in this role, you should possess at least 2 years of experience in hardware assembly, system bring-up, or a similar technical support role. Proficiency in installing and configuring operating systems, drivers, and firmware is essential. Familiarity with BIOS/UEFI flashing, hardware validation tools, and troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues are required.
