Job Description Viva Books Private Limited is looking for a full-time Assistant Editor: English with a keen eye for detail and a passion for copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking. As an Assistant Editor, you will work on manuscripts in various subject areas, ensuring they are well-written, grammatically correct, and adhere to style guidelines. This role will be based in New Delhi. Key Responsibilities - Copyedit, proofread, and fact-check manuscripts in different subject areas - Ensure manuscripts are grammatically correct and adhere to style guidelines - Work under tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards - Collaborate with academic experts, editors, and production staff Qualification Required - Must have a Master's degree in English or linguistics - 1-3 years of experience in copyediting, proofreading, or fact-checking is desirable - Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling - Proficiency in Microsoft Word - Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Note: This is an entry-level editorial role accepting applications only from candidates with a Master's degree in English or linguistics.
