Assistant Director/ Associate Director of Libraries

As the Director of the University Library System at Ahmedabad University, you will be responsible for overseeing library operations, library applications, and Management Software. Your role will involve designing new library services to support research and teaching, as well as managing online resources including procurement and usage analysis. Ahmedabad University is a private, non-profit institution that provides students with a liberal education focusing on research-driven and project-based learning. Your responsibilities will include managing library operations and applications, utilizing Metadata, Citation tools, Plagiarism check tools, and AI technology. Additionally, you will be in charge of electronic resources, generating usage reports, analyzing library statistics, and managing license agreements. You will also design new library services and create user awareness. Key skills required for this role include relevant experience in Library/office management, knowledge of various library resources, library requirement analysis, collection management, library services assessment, and awareness of emerging trends in Library services. The ideal candidate should hold a PhD or NET or SLET/SET qualification, along with a First Class (60% or above) in MLISc or equivalent. A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience is required, with at least 10 years in a University library in an Assistant Librarian Position or Librarian in a reputable college library.
