Assembly Supervisor

Role & responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day assembly operations on the shop floor.
• Ensure that assembly processes follow design specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Allocate manpower efficiently to meet daily production schedules.
• Review and interpret fabrication drawings and ensure accurate assembly.
• Conduct in-process quality checks and coordinate with QA for final inspection.
• Ensure adherence to safety, 5S, and lean manufacturing practices.
• Train and mentor operators and technicians in assembly techniques and tools.
• Coordinate with planning, welding, powder coating, and dispatch teams for workflow continuity.

Report production data, downtime, and issues to production management.

Preferred candidate profile

ITI / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.

• 35 years of supervisory experience in assembly, preferably in canopy or enclosure fabrication.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal components, fasteners, gaskets, locks, hinges, wiring support, etc.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and BOMs.
• Working knowledge of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and measurement instruments.
• Good communication and leadership skills.

Exposure to lean practices, Kaizen, or ISO 9001 systems is preferred.
