As an Underwriter for corporate finance business in the designated region, your role involves the following responsibilities: - Support and work closely with business teams to facilitate end-to-end credit approval processes for the assigned region. - Underwrite cases and present them to senior management for review and approval. - Authorize deviations raised by underwriters in compliance with credit policy guidelines. - Finalize the review of credit memos prepared by underwriters, ensuring all documentation requests are met before providing approval or decline sign-offs. - Approve all disbursement requests based on adherence to agreement value requirements and full documentation completion at the branch level. - Monitor and oversee Personal Discussion Document (PDD) management, ensuring timely completion through customer visits for high-value cases. - Coordinate with external vendors such as Financial Institutions, Legal, and Technical valuations for query resolution and report submissions to eliminate delays. - Collaborate with the recoveries team to generate business insights. - Lead a team of credit approvers to maintain portfolio quality and manage delinquencies effectively. - Engage in the development, implementation, review, and monitoring of various credit programs, providing training and coaching to enhance team competency and processing efficiency. - Ensure thorough due diligence in credit analysis, customer application screening, evaluation, underwriting, and loan sanctioning processes. - Customize underwriting norms to meet local market requirements and continuously improve consumer credit risk strategy implementation.
