Role & responsibilities

Master Planning & Architecture

  • Ensure compliance with

    the National Medical Commission (NMC), NABH, NBC, and local building codes

    .
  • Integrate

    circulation networks, parking, utilities, and green corridors

    for seamless connectivity.

Interior Design

  • Plan

    functional, ergonomic, and safe interiors

    for hospital wards, OPDs, classrooms, labs, hostels, and staff housing.
  • Develop

    modular furniture layouts, finishes, lighting, and acoustics

    tailored to healthcare and academic needs.
  • Ensure

    infection control, patient comfort, and universal accessibility

    in hospital interiors.
  • Create

    student-centric hostel and recreational interiors

    with durability and aesthetics in mind.

Landscape Design

  • Design

    green corridors, courtyards, and open spaces

    to enhance healing and learning environments.
  • Integrate

    biophilic design, water bodies, shaded walkways, and outdoor seating

    .
  • Plan

    sports fields, stadium seating, and recreational landscapes

    in compliance with international standards.
  • Incorporate

    sustainable landscaping

    with native plants, rainwater harvesting, and irrigation systems.

Project Management

  • Prepare

    conceptual, schematic, and detailed drawings

    using CAD/BIM tools.
  • Conduct

    design reviews, presentations, and workshops

    with stakeholders.
  • Oversee

    construction progress, quality control, and adherence to timelines and budgets

    .
  • Plan for

    phased execution

    to minimize disruption to academic and hospital operations.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in

    Architecture

    (specialization/experience in Interiors & Landscape preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience

    in large-scale institutional/healthcare/educational projects.
  • Proficiency in

    AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, Photoshop, and BIM tools

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    building codes, healthcare design standards, and sustainable practices

    .

Desired Competencies

  • Ability to

    balance aesthetics, compliance, and operational efficiency.

  • Strong

    analytical and problem-solving skills

    for multi-use campus planning.
  • Experience in

    PPP/government-funded institutional projects

    .
  • Familiarity with

    sports facility design and landscaping standards.

Architecture:

  • Preparation of design brief.
  • Site evaluation, analysis, and impact of existing and/or proposed development on its immediate environs.
  • Design and site development.
  • Structural design, in coordination with a structural consultant.
  • Sanitary, plumbing, drainage, water supply, and sewerage design.
  • Electrical, electronic, and communication systems and design.
  • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning design (HVAC) and other mechanical systems.
  • Elevators, escalators, etc.
  • Fire detection, fire protection, security systems, etc.
  • Inspection and evaluation of construction works.

Concept Design:

  • Examine site constraints & potential, and prepare a design brief for approval.
  • Prepare a report on the site evaluation, the state of existing buildings, if any, and the analysis and impact of existing and/or proposed development on its immediate environs.
  • Prepare drawings and documents to enable getting done the detailed survey and investigation at the site of the project.
  • Furnish a report on measures required to be taken to mitigate the adverse impact, if any, of the existing and/or proposed development on its immediate environs.
  • Prepare conceptual designs with reference to requirements given and prepare a rough estimate of cost on an area basis.

Preliminary Design and Drawings:

  • Modify the conceptual designs, incorporating required changes, and prepare the preliminary drawings, sketches, study 3D model, etc., for the approval along with a preliminary estimate of cost on an area basis.

Working Drawings and Tender Documents:

  • Prepare working drawings, specifications, and a schedule of quantities sufficient to prepare an estimate of cost and tender documents, including a code of practice covering aspects like mode of measurement, etc., works, and other conditions of contract.

Appointment of Contractors:

  • Invite, receive, and analyze tenders; advise the client on the appointment of contractors, if required, and necessary support to be provided.

Construction:

  • Prepare and issue working drawings and details for proper execution of works during construction.
  • Approve samples of various elements and components.
  • Check and approve shop drawings submitted by the contractors/vendors.
  • Site visit to inspect and evaluate the construction works and, where necessary, clarify any decision, offer interpretation of the drawings/specifications, attend conferences and meetings to ensure that the project proceeds generally in accordance with the conditions of contract, and keep informed and render advice on actions, if required.
  • In order to ensure that the work at the site proceeds in accordance with the contract documents/drawings and to exercise time and quality controls.
  • Issue a Certificate of Virtual Completion of works.

Execution of the Assignment:

  • The architect shall keep informed about the progress of work.
  • The Architect shall appoint specialized consultants in consultation with the Client, if necessary.
  • The Architect shall be responsible for the direction and integration of the consultant’s work. The consultants, however, shall be fully responsible for the calculations, the detailed design, and the periodic inspection and evaluation of the work entrusted to them. The Architect shall, if requested, make available the design calculations.
  • The architect will advise on the time schedule (bar chart) prepared by the contractors for the completion of work.
  • The Architect shall not make any deviations, alterations, or omissions from the approved drawings involving financial implications without prior consent.
  • The Architect shall exercise all reasonable skill, care, and diligence in the discharge of his duties and shall exercise such general superintendence and inspection as may be necessary to ensure that works are being executed in accordance with the Conditions of Contract.

Time Schedule:

  • The Architect shall prepare a time schedule in respect of various services to be rendered and discharge of the client's obligations.
