Job Description

key responsibilities and tasks of an architect/interior designer in an interior design office: Spatial Planning and Layout: Space Optimization: Analyzing and optimizing the use of interior spaces to ensure functionality and aesthetics align with the client's needs. Flow and Circulation: Designing the layout to ensure efficient flow and circulation within the space, considering factors like accessibility and usability. Design Integration: Coordination with team: Collaborating closely with designers & execution team to integrate interior finishes, furniture, and decor. Technical Documentation: Construction Drawings: Preparing detailed drawings that include plans, sections, and elevations, focusing on interior modifications and detailing. Specifications: Providing detailed specifications for materials, finishes, fixtures, and fittings, ensuring they meet design and performance criteria. Client Interaction: Understanding Client Needs: Working with clients to understand their requirements and preferences, and translating these into viable design solutions. Presentation: Creating presentations, including 3D renderings and mood boards, to effectively communicate design concepts to clients. Project Management: Budget and Timeline Management: Managing project budgets and timelines, ensuring that the design and implementation stay within the agreed parameters. Coordination: Coordinating with various stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and suppliers, to ensure seamless project execution. Construction Oversight: Site Supervision: Conducting site visits to monitor the progress of interior construction and ensure that work aligns with the design specifications. Problem Solving: Addressing any on-site issues that arise during the construction phase, providing quick and effective solutions. Detailing and Finishes: Interior Detailing: Focusing on the finer details of interior architecture, such as built-in furniture, cabinetry, and intricate joinery. Material Selection: Selecting appropriate materials and finishes that align with the design vision and functional requirements.
