Job Description

As an Applications Development Senior Manager at our company, your role involves managing a team to establish and implement new application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. Your main responsibility is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities. **Responsibilities:** - Manage one or more Applications Development teams to achieve established goals and handle personnel duties for the team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions) - Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight - Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects - Contribute to the formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas - Develop comprehensive knowledge of how different business areas integrate to achieve business goals - Provide evaluative judgment in complicated and unique situations - Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring end results delivery, participating in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues - Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards, negotiating with external parties when necessary - Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, safeguarding the firm's reputation, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations **Technical Skills:** - Hands-on experience with Java (version 1.8 or above), Spring Boot, Kafka, microservices, REST, and JSON - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and toolchains (Git, BitBucket, Artifactory, Jira, Confluence, Collaborate) - Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra is a plus **Qualifications:** - 6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry - Experience as an Applications Development Manager and in a senior-level Applications Development role - Stakeholder and people management experience - Demonstrated leadership and project management skills - Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards - Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills **Education:** - Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience - Master's degree preferred This job description provides a high-level overview of the work performed.
