Role Overview: As the Applications Development Senior Manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead a team or department in establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. Your main objective will be to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities. Key Responsibilities: - Manage one or more Applications Development teams to achieve established goals, including conducting personnel duties such as performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions - Utilize your in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications - Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects and contribute to the formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas - Develop a comprehensive understanding of how different areas of business integrate to achieve business goals - Make evaluative judgments based on the analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situations - Impact the Applications Development area by monitoring the delivery of end results, participating in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues - Ensure essential procedures are followed, contribute to defining standards, and negotiate with external parties when necessary - Assess risks appropriately when making business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets - Supervise the activity of others effectively and create accountability with those who fail to maintain standards Qualifications: - Experience in designing microservices and distributed architecture enterprise applications - Hands-on technology proficiency in Agile/Scrum development methods, Java/JEE, Cloud/IaaS/PaaS, UI/UX & SOA/Micro Services, Spring, Microservices, and deployment tools - Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, Mongo, MySQL - Good to have experience in big data technologies, BI tools (Tableau), and UI/UX technologies (i.e., Angular) - 10-12 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry - Experience as an Applications Development Manager - Stakeholder and people management experience - Demonstrated leadership skills - Proven project management skills - Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards - Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication Education: - Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience required - Master's degree preferred (Note: This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
