Apprentice - Component Engineer

As a part of Oceaneering India Center, your role as a Component Engineer will involve understanding different types of components and their attributes, accessing design engineers" requests for COTS (Commercial off the Shelf Parts), and supporting SCM on purchasing issues related to existing COTS Parts in the ERP System. Your essential duties and responsibilities will include: - Researching, coordinating, and supporting engineering staff in the selection and qualification of sourced and bought-out components and assemblies. - Creating and updating a database for COTS/Material, maintaining an effective COTS database with attribute definitions, component classification, and vendor details. - Refining and updating the COTS database for better and updated definitions. - Handling COTS/Material changes and updates in PLM/PDM systems following Business Unit processes. - Resolving technical queries raised by customers or field technicians to select the right product. - Reviewing work specifications/ECOs created by other engineers. - Communicating regular progress updates to customers. In addition to the essential duties, you may be required to undertake other training or duties as needed by management. It is important to demonstrate a high level of initiative, comply with organizational HR policies and procedures, and work collaboratively with the team. Qualifications: - Required: Graduation/Post Graduation in Mechanical/Electrical/Robotics Engineering. - Desired: Familiarity with CAD and PLM/PDM Software, working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, familiarity with AutoCAD, and any calculations software.
