Application Support Engineer

Job Description

Role & responsibilities Provide timely and effective support for software applications used across the organization. Troubleshoot and resolve application incidents, issues, and requests logged by users. Analyze logs, error reports, and user feedback to diagnose and fix problems. Monitor application performance and availability using relevant tools and dashboards. Coordinate with development and infrastructure teams for escalations and fixes. Document troubleshooting steps, known errors, solutions, and FAQs for internal knowledge base. Participate in system upgrades, patch deployments, and release testing. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring problems and recommend long-term solutions. Assist in onboarding and training users on application functionality when required. Adhere to ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management. Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation, if applicable. Preferred candidate profile Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Hands-on experience in SQL for data investigation and issue resolution. Familiarity with Windows/Linux OS environments. Understanding of APIs, integrations, and web services (REST/SOAP). Knowledge of scripting (e.g., Shell, Python) is a plus. Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana). Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Zendesk. Strong communication and customer service skills.
