Project Role Description :Lead the effort to design, build and configure applications, acting as the primary point of contact.

Summary:As an Application Lead, you will lead the effort to design, build, and configure applications, acting as the primary point of contact. We are seeking an experienced COBOL Developer (Team Lead) to lead and manage development activities in our mainframe environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in COBOL, JCL, and DB2, with proven leadership skills to guide a development team and ensure high-quality deliverables. Roles & Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring quality and timely delivery.- Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL, JCL, and DB2 programs.- Perform production job monitoring and resolve abends/issues efficiently.- Write and optimize DB2 queries with strong understanding of joins, cursors, and query performance tuning.- Use tools like File-AID, Squirrel, Micro Focus, and Putty for development and job monitoring.- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.- Perform root cause analysis of production issues and provide permanent fixes.- Utilize Jira for task tracking and ServiceNow for incident/change management.- Provide knowledge sharing sessions and support junior team members. Skills:

- Languages known COBOL, JCL, DB2 (Mandatory), PL/I (Preferred).- Strong DB2 knowledge with ability to write and debug complex queries.- Expertise in joins, cursors, and performance optimization.- Mainframe Tools File-AID, Squirrel, Micro Focus, Putty.- OS Knowledge Basic Linux/Unix commands.- Other Tools Jira, ServiceNow.- Must Have excellent JCL skills, production job monitoring, and debugging capabilities.
Additional Information:- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Cobol Mainframe.- This position is based at our Pune office.- A 15 years full time education is required. Qualification 15 years full time education
