Application Architect - Perl/Java

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end application lifecycle from architecture, development, and deployment to monitoring and optimization.
• Design and evolve robust, scalable, and secure application architectures, considering high availability, maintainability, and performance.
• Oversee Java platform upgrades (e.g., Java 8 to 17), addressing compatibility, dependency, and performance concerns.
• Manage Perl-to-Perl migrations across flavors (e.g., ActivePerl to Strawberry Perl, 32-bit to 64- bit), ensuring runtime compatibility, library consistency, and minimal disruption.
• Design and maintain custom Java orchestration logic for workflow management and integration with enterprise systems.
• Architect and optimize messaging middleware built on SonicMQ, ensuring resilience, message durability, and efficient routing.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure smooth RHEL-based deployments, including understanding of underlying services, network configurations, and storage

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven experience in application architecture design for enterprise-grade systems.

• Strong hands-on expertise in RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) environments including configuration, troubleshooting, tuning, and deployment.

• Good understanding of Linux infrastructure components from an application perspective (e.g., services, System, firewall rules, logs, storage mounts, users/permissions).

• Proficient in Java application development, upgrades, and performance tuning. • Solid experience in Perl script migration between different Perl versions/flavors.

• Working knowledge of enterprise messaging platforms, particularly SonicMQ.

• Capable of building and managing custom orchestration logic in Java, with knowledge of concurrency, scheduling, and system integrations.

• Having background of working on Document Composition or Customer Communication management Domain • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).

• Exposure to containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Basic understanding of infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
