Supervise and lead a team of medical coders, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure accurate and timely coding of medical records in compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
Review and analyze coded medical records, including diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and modifiers, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with coding standards and billing requirements.
Collaborate with healthcare providers, physicians, and other stakeholders to address coding-related queries, discrepancies, and documentation issues, and provide education and training as needed.
Monitor coding productivity and quality metrics, identify trends and areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance coding efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Stay informed about changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure that coding practices are updated accordingly.
Assist in developing and implementing coding policies, procedures, and protocols to standardize coding practices and ensure consistency across the organization.
Assist in preparing reports, analyses, and presentations on coding performance, trends, and outcomes for management review and decision-making
