Job Title: Anesthesia Technician
Department: Operation Theatre / Anesthesia Department
Reports To: OT In-Charge
Experience Required: Minimum 2–3 years (hospital experience preferred)

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting anesthetists in administering anesthesia during surgeries and other medical procedures, preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, and ensuring all anesthesia-related supplies are available and functioning properly for safe patient care.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and check anesthesia equipment, machines, and supplies before each procedure.
• Assist anesthetists in administering anesthesia to patients during surgeries and procedures.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs during the induction, maintenance, and recovery phases under the anesthetist’s guidance.
• Prepare and label medications, syringes, and fluids for anesthesia use as per the anesthetist’s instructions.
• Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of anesthesia instruments and machines.
• Restock and maintain anesthesia supplies, drugs, and emergency equipment.
• Maintain accurate anesthesia equipment logs and maintenance schedules.
• Assist in patient preparation before anesthesia, including positioning and connecting monitoring devices.
• Follow strict infection control, safety, and quality protocols.
• Comply with NABH / ISO standards and hospital policies.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma / B.Sc. in Anesthesia Technology (DATT / B.Sc. Anesthesia).
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment, drugs, and procedures.
• Basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) training preferred.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
