Experience: 8-12 years

Job Location: Bangalore / Chennai / Pune / Hyderabad

Job Summary:

Android Lead Developer

Must have :

• 6+ years of recent Android development experience. Ability to show code snippets and/or open-source projects are bonus points!
• Fluency in Kotlin (the language we use).
• Familiar with RESTful APIs and WebSockets and how to use them from Kotlin-based Android applications.
• Good knowledge of Android SDK.
• Experience with payments.
• Knowledge of libraries commonly used in Android development (for instance Koin, RxJava, Retrofit, Room, Coroutines).
• Experience with object-oriented concepts and design patterns.
• Good knowledge of different Android application architecture patterns.
• Ability to debug and profile applications.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (min. B2 level).
• Experience in working in small teams and with version control systems (and if thats Git, even better!)
• Knowledge of security issues on mobile.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, SQLite.
• Navigation component.
• Clean architecture approach.
• Hands-on experience in improving application performance.
• Practical knowledge of observability best practices in mobile applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design, development, and deployment of Android applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend teams to define and deliver new features.
• Optimize applications for performance, security, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing Android applications.
• Stay up to date with the latest Android development tools, frameworks, and practices.
• Participate in sprint planning, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
• Escalate issues in time and have the ability to follow up for their status
• Ability to think out of the box

Communication:

• Facilitates team and stakeholder meetings effectively
• Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
• Astute cross-cultural awareness and experience in working with international teams (especially US)
