About DESRI DESRI is a market-leading owner and operator of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. The company has acquired or developed approximately 11 gigawatts of contracted capacity across a portfolio of over 70 renewable energy projects in 24 states. DESRI is run by a dynamic team with offices located in New York, Denver, and Hyderabad (India). About The Role We are seeking a resourceful candidate to join the India office of DESRI, specifically DESRI India Private Limited, based in Hyderabad, India. The selected candidate will become a part of the Design and Engineering team and will have regular interactions with both U.S. and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties. Joining a small, inclusive, and highly skilled team, the candidate will play a crucial role in supporting DESRI's portfolio of wind, solar, and storage projects within a collaborative work environment that values thoughtful problem-solving and attention to detail. What You'll Do As a member of our team, you will primarily focus on detailed PV plant designing for utility-scale projects. Your responsibilities will include creating layouts and detailed designs, working on fixed tilt and tracker designs for Utility Scale Design, and integrating various design datasets such as Geotech, Civil, topographic, and environmental surveys of the site. You will be expected to offer relevant suggestions and insights to optimize capacity by analyzing different layouts and design inputs. Additionally, you will be required to simulate multiple iterations using tools like Civil 3D or similar software, assess various combinations of plant components, and provide an analysis of the total capacity achieved for the site. Moreover, you will conduct an analysis of how different environmental factors, like topography, shading, and constraints, impact the overall capacity of the site. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess: - A Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering or a Master of Technology (M. Tech) in renewable/solar energy/power systems/Geotech - Up to 6 years of experience in utility-scale solar plant designing and detailed design - Proficiency in software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, QGIS, PVCase, or 3D design software for layouts - Sound knowledge of AC/DC electrical power systems, MV cabling, various racking systems, and different design tools - The ability to communicate conclusions effectively through well-organized layouts and layout summaries - Experience in PVCase, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, layout design, and detailed design based on actual site data and calculations - A strong understanding of Electrical Engineering, Basic Civil and Environmental Engineering, Geotech studies, MV Cable routing, large GIS data handling skills, ASTM and NEC codes and standards, as well as experience in solar plant commissioning and fieldwork.,
