Job Description

As a Metal Operator, your main responsibility is to oversee all aspects of physical shipments within the metal industry, from trade execution to completion. This includes logistics coordination, contract administration, settlement, and risk mitigation for metal shipments. Key Responsibilities: - Hold a BE/MBA degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field - Possess 2-5 years of experience in the metal/logistics industry - Fluent in English for effective communication with traders, internal departments, and international stakeholders - Strong analytical skills to address complex logistical issues concisely in both written and verbal formats - Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in daily operations - Adaptability to flexible working hours and ability to perform well under pressure - Demonstrate an open personality with energy and drive - Proficiency in IT tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook Your daily responsibilities will include: - Communicating with suppliers, receivers, and service providers - Coordinating monthly tonnage requirements with customers - Organizing and coordinating shipments with various Trafigura offices - Managing multiple reports including Credit Exposure and Logistics reports - Updating the in-house IT system regularly to track cargo location and status accurately - Executing pricing orders from suppliers/customers and liaising with the deals desk for execution - Handling preparation, verification, and processing of shipping documents - Ensuring cargo insurance compliance as per incoterms - Arranging for inspection, sampling, assaying, and umpires of cargoes based on contractual terms Additionally, Trafigura operates globally with trading teams in Geneva, Montevideo, Singapore, and Stamford, supported by offices in Johannesburg, Lima, Mexico City, Mumbai, and Shanghai. You will report directly to the Manager Operations in Mumbai.,
