AM - Ring-Rolling In-charge

Position Name : AM (Ring-Rolling In-charge Stainless Steel Flange Production)

Qualification : B.Tech /BE / Diploma -Mechanical/ Production/Industrial /Metallurgy Engineering

Experience : 12 to 15 years in Ring Rolling preferably in stainless steel flange production

Key Skills & Competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of ring rolling techniques and forging principles.
• Hands-on experience in operating and troubleshooting hydraulic/mechanical ring rolling machines.
• Understanding of stainless steel grades, heating

Location: Palghar

Job Purpose:

The incumbent will be responsible to oversee and manage the complete operations of the ring rolling section in stainless steel flange production, ensuring high-quality output, optimum machine utilization, adherence to production targets, and strict compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management:

• Plan, coordinate and supervise ring rolling operations to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Monitor and ensure optimum utilization of ring rolling machines and manpower.
• Coordinate with cutting, forging, and machining sections for smooth flow of material.

2. Technical Expertise & Process Control:

• Interpret technical drawings and forging specifications of various types and sizes of flanges.
• Optimize ring rolling parameters (temperature, speed, diameter control, etc.) for different grades of stainless steel.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish of rolled rings.
• Minimize rework, rejections, and scrap generation by continuous process improvements.

3. Equipment & Maintenance Oversight:

• Supervise the setup, operation, and changeover of ring rolling machines and auxiliary equipment (furnaces, manipulators, etc.).
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance.
• Maintain machine health logs and performance records.

4. Manpower Management:

• Allocate tasks and supervise the activities of operators, helpers, and support staff.
• Ensure skill development and training of subordinates on process safety, SOPs, and quality awareness.
• Maintain discipline, motivation, and productivity among shop-floor employees.

5. Quality Assurance:

• Work closely with the Quality Department to ensure compliance with ISO /ASME / customer specifications.
• Implement quality checks at critical process stages billet heating, ring rolling, cooling, etc.
• Address internal/external quality complaints and support RCA & CAPA activities.

6. Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure safe working conditions and strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE usage.
• Conduct safety drills and implement 5S and Kaizen practices in the ring rolling area.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and statutory regulations.

7. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain shift-wise production reports, downtime records, and consumption logs.
• Submit daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports to the Production Head.
• Assist in audits and inspections by customers, third-party agencies, or statutory bodies.
