Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Manage GST compliances across all plants and business locations, including timely and accurate filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns, and reconciliations.
Review input tax credit (ITC) availment, vendor reconciliations, and ensure adherence to GST laws.
Oversee e-invoicing, e-way bills, and related operational compliances.
Provide advisory support on GST implications for domestic procurement, imports, exports, stock transfers, job work, and inter-unit transactions.
Ensure smooth implementation of GST updates, amendments, and circulars in business processes.
Handle GST audits, investigations, show cause notices, and appeals at different stages (departmental, appellate, tribunal, and court).
Prepare replies, submissions, and briefs for hearings, in coordination with consultants and legal counsel.
Represent the company before GST officers and authorities, as required.
Maintain proper documentation and track status of all pending litigations and assessments.
Establish internal controls for tax compliance across all plants.
Drive automation and system improvements in ERP for GST compliance.
Monitor and minimize tax risks and exposures through proactive planning.
Build MIS dashboards and reports for management review of tax positions, risks, and exposures.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong technical knowledge of GST laws, rules, and case laws.
Hands-on experience with SAP/Oracle or other ERP systems.
Good drafting and communication skills for handling notices and litigation.
Problem-solving and analytical mindset with attention to detail.
