Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Alation Developer with extensive experience in the credit card industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data cataloging, metadata management, and data governance, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining our Alation platform to ensure optimal data management and utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Platform Development and Maintenance:

• Develop, configure, and maintain the Alation data catalog platform.
• Implement data cataloging, metadata management, and data governance features.
• Ensure seamless integration of Alation with various data sources and business intelligence tools.

• Data Management:

• Capture, manage, and enrich metadata from various data sources.
• Establish and maintain data lineage to track data movement and transformations.
• Monitor data quality and implement measures to improve data accuracy and reliability.

• Collaboration:

• Collaborate with data stewards, data analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with data governance policies.
• Provide support to end-users on the effective use of Alation for data discovery and analysis.
• Promote best practices in data management and governance across the organization.

• Problem Solving and Optimization:

• Identify and resolve issues related to data cataloging and metadata management.
• Optimize the performance and scalability of the Alation platform.
• Stay updated with the latest features and enhancements in Alation and implement relevant updates.

• Documentation and Reporting:

• Document system configurations, data workflows, and data governance policies.
• Generate reports and insights on data usage, data quality, and data governance compliance.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related field.
• Experience in the credit card is Must.
• Proven experience with the Alation data catalog platform.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence tool is must.
• Proficiency in data cataloging and metadata management.
• Strong knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.
• Experience with data integration tools and technologies.
• Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Understanding of database systems, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality.
