AIX Admin

1. Experience in IBM AIX Server Administration.
2. As this is for a L2 requirement, candidates should have strong skills in installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of all areas of IBM AIX Server including high availability, replication, disaster recovery, patching, backup & recovery, performance tuning, optimizing, and securing AIX Servers in a large environment.
3. Administer and maintain AIX systems including LVM, HACMP, VIO servers, and HMC.
4. Perform OS upgrades and patching on AIX and Red Hat Linux systems.
5. Configure and manage IBM Pacemaker clusters for high availability.
6. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across AIX and Linux environments.
7. Manage logical volumes, file systems, and storage configurations.
8. Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure system reliability and performance.
9. Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
10. Ensure compliance with security policies and implement system hardening practices.
11. Extensive knowledge on IBM HMC and firmware upgrades.
12. Strong knowledge on AIX upgrades from 7.2 to 7.3 and VIO version upgrades.
13. Installation of Red Hat Linux servers using Kickstart and AIX servers through NIM.
14. Excellent documentation skills. Should have prior experience in creating design documents, SOPs, etc.
15. Flexible working in 24x7 operations (working in shifts, on-call support, etc.).
16. Should have excellent communication and presentation skills as the candidate needs to work with Architects, Service Owners, Business Partners, and other technical teams.
17. Good understanding of ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, Configuration, and Change Management (ITIL).
18. Flexible to learn other technologies as per project requirements.

Secondary Skills

1. Experience in Linux.
2. Good understanding of networking, storage, monitoring, and management tools.
