Job Description Summary Engine Dynamics is a critical domain for aircraft engines as it impacts the entire product life cycle of the engine, starting with conceptual design through product design/certification and field support. The main purpose of the engine dynamics team is to develop a rotor dynamically stable engine ensuring safety & reliability while finding an optimal balance between performance, weight & cost. This team is critical to realizing GE Aerospaces noble vision in developing next generation RISE (Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engine) engines. The main responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, leading multiple project teams to solve business critical problems by performing accurate rotordynamic analyses serving internal/external customers, lead/provide inputs towards technology maturation, champion advancement of state of the art in predictive methods and drive collaboration across multiple teams, organizations & global sites to share knowledge base. Role Overview: Formally lead team on complex technical problems/programs in the area of vibe test/cert support, and developing vibe model correlations for structural and rotor dynamics Support vibe endurance, block test and responsibility on some of the development/ compliance engine test daily trending/health monitoring Initiate/lead continuous improvement strategy for engine dynamics methods/tools Lead TOPS8D/RCA programs to derive fast, cost effective solutions Demonstrate horizontal leadership by collaborating both within and outside the immediate team/organization to deliver tangible business impact Lead system level dynamics evaluation of aircraft engines at various operating conditions Recommend design/analysis approaches utilizing current best practices to meet program/ project needs and develop new best practices to solve newer technical challenges Growing perspective, making cross product linkages, leveraging expertise Support & write funding proposals to align with opportunities of tech maturation programs Lead and drive innovation and IP strategies Promote inclusion & diversity: recognize team and value varied perspectives Mentor team and lead talent development initiatives Adopt & promote LEAN philosophy through daily management & LEAN problem solving Required Qualifications PhD MTech MS in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering 15+ years of relevant experience on dynamics design/analyses in gas turbine domain In-depth understanding of mechanical engineering, structural and rotor dynamics fundamentals Demonstrated ability to lead engineering programs, inspire excellence in teams and drive change Excellent communication and presentation skills Unfailing dedication to deadlines and commitments Preferred Qualifications: Strong numerical simulation experience in any of the commercial FE packages Exposure to engine vibration related noise assessment methodology Exposure to FAA regulations and aerospace industry Exposure to Design For Six Sigma tools and techniques Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

Develop new repairs for commercial engine components by utilizing conventional or innovative repair techniques. Evaluate engine component damages reported by customer/airline to develop repair schemes and coordinate with engine manufactures for timely approval of repair schemes. Evaluating the cost advantage between repairing a part & buying a new part and ensuring cost savings for airline customer. Developing repair technical data on engine components at On-Wing, AOG level like Borescope Blending, Chasing of threads, Adhesive fill and Touch up repairs on composite parts. Evaluating service bulletins (SB), Airworthiness Directives (AD), etc issued by aircraft/engine manufactures. Creating Substantiation Memo documents and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA's) in accordance with FAA code of federal regulations for applicable repair scheme. Co-ordination with other disciplines like IPT leads, Structures, Design, Metallurgy, Standard Practices and Customer Technical Support in evaluating the repair technical data. Performing quality checks to improve the quality of the product within on-time schedule with first time acceptance and customer satisfaction. SKILLS / COMPETENCE: Must have: 5 - 7 Years of experience in repair development engineering A good team player, people leader who can work well under pressure or in stressful and demanding situations or environments. Well aware of Aircraft /Aero Engine components and functional details along with their operation procedures. Good at understanding in various repair processes (e.g Machining, Thermal spray coating/plating, Welding, Paint, NDT & Cleaning) & Engineering drawings. Having good knowledge on GD&T and ASME Y14.5 1994 standards. Effective communicator and should have the ability to lead client discussions with all stakeholders on Technical subject related and take decisions accordingly. Competent in MS office applications. Ability to train, mentor and control the new joiners in the team. Desired: Worked with Aero Engine OEM (RR or GE)
