AI/ML Platform Engineer

Role Overview: As a Senior Data Scientist at Johnson Controls International (JCI), you will be part of the Data Science and Analytics team, focusing on developing and deploying scalable AI solutions, including those powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). Your expertise in machine learning, AI, and cloud data platforms will be crucial in driving digital transformation across products, operations, and customer experiences. Your responsibilities will include leading the development of advanced machine learning models, collaborating with data engineering teams, shaping AI strategy, and mentoring team members. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement advanced machine learning models such as deep learning, time-series forecasting, and recommendation engines, as well as LLM-based solutions. - Develop use cases for enterprise search, document summarization, conversational AI, and automated knowledge retrieval using large language models. - Fine-tune foundation models for domain-specific applications and optimize LLM performance for production use. - Work closely with data and ML engineering teams to integrate LLM-powered applications into scalable, secure pipelines. - Contribute to the development of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures using vector databases. - Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for applying LLMs and generative AI to solve complex business challenges. - Act as a thought leader on AI and LLM innovation, mentor team members, and contribute to strategic roadmaps for generative AI within the enterprise. Qualifications Required: - Education in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline. - 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science, with at least 2 years working with LLMs or generative AI technologies. - Demonstrated success in deploying machine learning and NLP solutions at scale. - Proficiency in Python and SQL, including libraries like Transformers, PyTorch, and TensorFlow. - Experience with cloud AI platforms, especially Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, Hugging Face, or AWS Bedrock. - Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with a track record of influencing stakeholders across teams.,
