AI/ML Backend Developer (GenAI)

As an AI/ML Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining REST APIs using Python to integrate AI/ML services. Your role will involve orchestrating AI agents capable of reasoning, planning, and executing multi-step tasks by integrating LLMs with APIs, tools, and data sources. You will also be implementing and managing machine learning models, large language models (LLMs), Agentic AI workflows, and AI orchestration using Python. Additionally, you will utilize Generative AI models for tasks like text generation, summarization, conversational AI, and content creation. Your responsibilities will also include working with structured databases (SQL), graph databases (e.g., CosmosDB), and unstructured data stores (e.g., Elasticsearch). You will build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines leveraging Azure AI Search, AWS OpenSearch, or other vector databases for contextual responses. In this role, you will design and manage robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines to feed AI models. You will develop or integrate intent detection models and natural language understanding (NLU) solutions to enhance conversational AI. Moreover, you will create and optimize prompts for LLMs to improve response quality and reduce latency. Collaboration with frontend and product teams to embed Gen AI features into enterprise applications will also be a part of your responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Python for building and maintaining scalable REST APIs, with familiarity in integrating AI services. Strong expertise in Python with a focus on machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and AI orchestration is required. Experience in building autonomous AI agents and applying generative AI models for text generation, summarization, and conversational AI is essential. Solid understanding of structured, graph, and unstructured databases, along with the ability to design efficient data access patterns for AI workloads, is necessary. Preferred skills include familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, knowledge of additional AI/ML frameworks and tools, Agentic AI, and experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
